Air Sahara - After Indian goverment opened its domestic air market to private carriers, Sahara India was one of the first few private companies to create a new airline called Air Sahara. It also survived during 1990 when new carriers were closed forcefully. Company has its head quarter in New Delhi. Currently Air Sahara flies to more than 20 local Destinations in India. Recently Air Sahara started flying gulf and other neighboring countries to expand its reach from local carrier to international carrier. Air Sahara is a privately owned airline, recently it merged with Jet airways and now new company is called Jet-Lite
Air India Express - is the lo budget airline of Air India,, it operates from southern cities in India to Neighbouring gulf countries. This low budget airlines was started in May 2004 and saw its first maiden flight in April 2005. Being sister airlines to Air India, plans are to add more international routes in Europe and Asia< /br>
Indian Formerly known as Indian Airlines, domestic state owned carrier. In 2005 Indian airlines was branded as Indian for advertising purposes and create international image as airlines flew to few overseas destinations. Currently Indian flies to more than 15 destinations offering flights to all major cities and tourist places in India. The airlines is fully owned by the Government Of India.
Jet Airways - During 1990 when Government opened free sky policy, Jet Airways was incorporated as an Air Taxi. Today Jet airlines is a largest private carrier head quartered in Mumabi, India serving passengers on domestic and international routes. Jet Airlines operates more than 300 flights and has global reach with destinations in Asia, Europe and North America. Recently Jet airways bought Air Sahara in $500 million and emerged as biggest private airlines in India.
Kingfisher Airlines - Kingfisher is known brand worldwide for Beer. Capitalizing on known brand and growing air market in India, United Beverages created Kingfisher Airlines as medium budget airlines. The initial goal of airlines was to enter in domestic airlines market and now they have announced plan for international route by ordering Airbus's new model A380. Airline has created a niche segment with reasonable low air fare and same time maintained quality comfort. Currently Kingfisher flies to all major cities in India and is rated best for services.
Spice Jet - Initially Spice jet started as Royal Airways before it took shape in current form. Airlines is known for low air fares. When Spice jet started flying it came with promotional lowest air fare of Rs. 99, it took market with surprise and created name brand. The goal of airlines is to convert Railway passenger into Air passenger, looking for big segment which is price picky.
Air Deccan - Air Deccan took its wing in year 2003 as a low budget airlines, started with connecting more south Indian cities. Air Deccan is known for its inaugural flight which caught fire. Air line managed to keep it self in business by offering low fares and more sectors to air passengers. currently it flies to all major destination in India.
GoAir - GoAir airlines is owned by InterGlobe enterprises and Rakesh Gangwal. Airlines started its operation in August 2006 with selected routes. Airlines has hired former US Airways Executive Bruce Ashby to lead company as CEO. Airlines is relatively new and is competing for fast growing air market in India.
